Privacy policy

The short version

Wordle Dictionary does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or payment information. Your solver inputs are used to perform searches. For visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google Analytics remains off unless they choose to allow it. Elsewhere, Analytics is enabled by default and can be disabled at any time from Cookie settings.

Information handled by the site

Solver inputs

Guess history and manual clues are stored in your browser's session storage so the form can be restored during the same browser session. When you search, those clues are included in the page address and sent to the Wordle Dictionary server. Search responses may be cached for up to 24 hours. These clues describe a Wordle game and are not used to create a personal profile.

Consent preference

Your Analytics choice is stored in your browser's local storage so the site can remember it. You can reopen Cookie settings from the footer and change that choice at any time. The site uses a country code supplied by Cloudflare to decide whether prior consent is required. If the country cannot be determined, Analytics remains off and the consent banner is shown.

Google Analytics

If you accept Analytics, the site loads Google Analytics 4. It may collect page activity, browser and device information, approximate location, and a pseudonymous identifier stored in the _ga cookie. Google states that IP addresses are used during collection and discarded before they are logged. Wordle Dictionary removes search parameters from Analytics page addresses, disables Google Signals and advertising personalization signals, and does not intentionally send names, email addresses, or solver clues to Google Analytics.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts the site and its server infrastructure and may process request information such as IP address, device information, and security logs. If you accept Analytics, Google processes Analytics information on our behalf. Their own policies govern their processing and international data transfers.

Retention and your choices

Session storage is controlled by your browser and normally lasts until the browser tab or session is closed. Search-cache entries expire after 24 hours. Your consent preference remains until you change it or clear site storage. Google Analytics retains information according to the retention settings applied to the Analytics property.

You may disable Analytics without losing any solver functionality. You can also clear this site's storage or cookies using your browser settings.

Sale of personal information

Wordle Dictionary does not sell personal information. The Analytics tag is configured for measurement only, with advertising storage and personalization signals disabled.
